As I don’t often post, here I share with you what’s become of me recently. As many of you may or may not know…I am a personal chef to private retreats in Costa Rica and a certified holistic health & wellness coach. The retreats I cook for are deeply healing, plant medicine retreats. I do this work bc it aligns with my values and purpose to support others through their healing and it means the world to me to help create a safe container for seekers of their truth. Nature is medicine. Plants are medicine. Food is medicine. Breath is medicine. Integration is medicine. Relationship are medicine. Love is medicine. God has gifted us with abundant ways to heal our mind, body, and spirits; it is my honor to be on this path humbly serving.

The last 2.5 years of my life have been been transformative with nothing short of my own personal deep healing work and aligning with my soul’s purpose. I continue to adjust and align, and one thing I vow to change going forward is the fact that I don’t celebrate my wins often enough. I often hide. Hiding my wins out of the sheer fear of being SEEN 👁️. My personal work continues as I further step into my purpose and allow my soul to remind my mind that what I have to offer the world is absolutely beautiful and worthy of celebrating!!

My deepest and heartfelt gratitude to God - my rock, as I continue to open my heart, lean in, trust, and receive. Gratitude to my parents and all of my incredible sisters, who cheer me on; they’ve seen me struggle and doubt myself for far too many years; they’ve seen my tears, and held me in my most vulnerable of times. Big big smiles of pure joy and gratitude to @yogarajwla , teachers & students of yogaraj, and the entire community for all the love and support over the past decade+ as a student and four years as a teacher. A deep bow to @jaycoyoga for taking me under his yogi wing as both a student and teacher. The relationships and growth I’ve had here have had a huge impact on me and are close to my heart.

As many of you know, I’ve been going to Costa Rica over the past 1.5 years, creating healing space and healing meals to support the deep work at psilocybin retreats. I am committing myself more to this work and time in Costa Rica. I’ve also recently become a Certified Functional Medicine Health and Wellness Coach. I’m excited to see how the next chapter of my life unfolds yet feeling deeply emotional to let go. *sigh*

So although I will not be present on the schedule as a regular teacher, you bet I’ll see you in class via Zoom practicing alongside you as well as a sub when I’m in town!

Yay! My Xmas gift to myself was the Nama J2 Cold Press Juicer! And she did not disappoint. 🥬🥒🍊

Packaging was beautiful & organized. Assembly was easy (instructions were on point!), cleaning was easy and juicing was EASY PEASY. Recipe below:

6 leaves - Dinosaur Kale w/stems
1/2 bunch - Curly Parsley w/stems
1/2 bunch - Mint (de-stemmed)
1 Cucumber w/skin
5 Oranges - roughly peeled
1 large knob - Whole ginger
1 Jalapeño (deseeded)

I juiced above ingredients in 2 batches and made 35oz of fresh cold pressed juice!

My favorite part: it’s hands free and it will juice whole and large cut fruits/veggies. Long gone are the days of hand feeding a juicer small bits & pieces!

Intention setting & ceremony are powerful keystones to the healing journey and process of sitting with plant medicine. It is my absolute honor and pleasure to be a part of the set & setting team at the Soul Ascension retreats by @embracingyourlight . Not only do I feed our guests and staff delicious vegan meals, but I also support in creating a safe space for healing, and set up the ceremony space. This papaya-strawberry salad reminds me of the simplicity of a cat nap. Both are simple. Both take about 15 minutes and both are refreshing and nourishing. Self-care can feel a bit overwhelming when life is busy - another one of those things that “we’ll get to later”. But it’s truly the small acts of self-care that have the cumulative effect that we need to sustain the moments that turn into days, into months…and so on. Wherever you are reading this, I hope you take a few simple moments to do (or not do) something that brings peace into your day.

Papaya contains powerfully antioxidants, fights inflammation, improves digestion, and defends against visible signs of aging - yes please!

Simple salad recipe:
- 1 medium papaya
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 tangerine
- Zest of 1 lime
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tbs. pure maple syrup (optional)
- Mint for garnish

Cut papaya into 1 inch cubes and strawberries into bite sized pieces. Segment the tangerine. Drizzle with lime juice and maple syrup. Garnish with zest & mint, and enjoy!

Soul Ascension: A Psilocybin Retreat in Costa Rica - UPCOMING : May 26-30

In March, I had the honor of being a part of the Soul Ascension retreat in Costa Rica, organized by @embracingyourlight

Being in service to our gracious and lovely guests, alongside Jacqui Ruiz and @annasongsong for five incredible days was an experience I will never forget!

In addition to providing a safe space for deep healing for our guests, I got to do what I love - cook nourishing and healing plant based meals, support in the preparation of magic mushroom ceremonies, and connect with beautiful human beings and Mother Earth.

There is something powerful that happens when humans come together for healing & connection - collectively our intentions magnify and what unfolds moment-by-moment is an opening to experience acceptance, love and joy.

In March, I had the honor of being a part of the Soul Ascension retreat in Costa Rica, organized by @embracingyourlight

Being in service to our gracious and lovely guests, alongside Jacqui Ruiz and @annasongsong for five incredible days was an experience I will never forget!

In addition to providing a safe space for deep healing for our guests, I got to do what I love - cook nourishing and healing plant based meals, support in the preparation of magic mushroom ceremonies, and connect with beautiful human beings and Mother Earth.

There is something powerful that happens when humans come together for healing & connection - collectively our intentions magnify and what unfolds moment-by-moment is an opening to experience acceptance, love and joy.

You can free yourself from incessant chatter by becoming The Witness; that is, stepping back and viewing your thoughts objectively. Realizing and accepting that your incessant chatter is nothing more than your narration of how you perceive the world - your narrative makes you feel more comfortable with the unknown, and so you assign the unknown some kind of meaning, according to your value system and your historical experiences. This is your minds way of buffering reality- it is protecting you by controlling your “alternate reality” - BUT THAT VOICE - YOUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOU. And you do not “need” that protection. Can we begin to lean a little more into uncertainty by bearing Witness to the voice in our heads?

The world is not the enemy. The situation you perceive as a threat is not the enemy. Realizing that you are perceiving a problem puts the onus on you, which means you have the power to manipulate the narrative and release yourself from the trance of incessant, sabotaging chatter. Ask not, “what should I do about X problem?”, instead ask, “what part of me is being disturbed by X situation?”. It’s impossible to pull yourself out of a trance to find a solution if you’re lost in the neurotic thinking/energy of the problem.

What will set you free? Breaking the habit of thinking that the solution to your problem is to rearrange things outside yourself. The only permanent solution is to go inside and let go of the part of you that seems to have so many problems with reality.

A powerful tool is Yoga. Yoga (in all its various forms) takes you inward. You become The Witness. You become Knowledge…and that knowledge can set you free….to practice over and over and over I’m every situation, bc after all, this life is your human experience, and that voice inside your head isn’t going anywhere. But you have the power to tame it and own it rather than it own you. 🧘🏽‍♀️👁

What fun to observe my inner dialogue after 2 weeks of no yoga + 24 hours of travel to get to Italy. I’m stiff. I decided to bring my @liforme mat with me, insisting I “needed” my good mat for my practice, only to forget it in Paris on my layover. Thankfully, the last time I was in Italy, I left a mat here for future trips. It’s a basic mat, not much grip - a lot of ego conversations around that. So much so that I had to stop laugh at myself…remembering to be grateful that I had a mat at all, that I’m in freaking Italy and above all, that I have a capable body to practice my asanas. We get in our own way all to often. Recognizing when we are doing so allows us a moment to redirect our mind toward what is actually important - to shift our energy and reopen to the abundance and blessings of the moment 🙏🏽❤️ 🌕 Namaste my friends

“You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress, simultaneously.”

Today, I celebrate my 1 yr. anniversary of being in relationship with myself. My journey started to unfold when I began to hold myself accountable and take ownership of not only my shortcomings but also my strengths. I began to move away from asking “why?” (victim) and started asking myself “what?” (ownership).

Evaluating my relationship to myself shifted me…AND I continue to do the work. Checking in daily, exploring my narratives, watching my thoughts/patterns, observing where I put my attention and energy…noticing the wolf I choose (consciously or subconsciously) to feed.

One year later, after investing 100% into myself (therapy, coaching, meditation, journaling, ayahuasca, psilocybin, yoga, cycling, personal training, acupuncture, reading, making deep connections w/friends (old & new), healing my relationship with my parents, dancing to the moon in my living room, crying until I had no more tears (lol yeah right, there will always be tears), questioning my values & purpose, taking action on long awaited goals and dreams, laughing, traveling, and most importantly being still…I learned to accept and embrace myself - especially those parts of myself I am most insecure about. I know there will always be a struggle with certain aspects of myself, but that’s okay. As long as I know I have my own back and continue the work of holding space for myself, I trust that I have what it takes to persevere, evolve, shift, learn, and ride the wave of my fears rather than let them drown me.

I wish to live authentically, because only by knowing myself will I have the capacity to hold space for you. To have deep compassion and empathy. To be in service to those that find themselves in the same struggle. To be able to say to someone else, “I see you” is one of the greatest gifts and that is what I’m here to do. To remind you that you are your own masterpiece. 💫

just feeling into the good vibes of this morning. Got an extra hour sleep. Woke up in the morning feeling refreshed & attended Sunday Church w/ @brentasana Got to notice some interesting things during my practice, specifically where I hold myself back and stay comfortable. There were some moments I gave more effort to move toward my edge and there were some appropriate moments where I simply met myself where I was at. 90 min class followed by 15 min savasana…heaven!
A beautiful practice and wonderful way to complete my Sunday morning ✨🧘🏽‍♀️
